First marathon in the books! The Austin Marathon was great - hilly, but certainly not boring. I died pretty hard the last 4 miles but still put down a 2:55 after 4 months of 3-4 days a week of running. A long ways from where I used to be but I am so excited this went well! My buddy Brad ran 2:42 after 4 months of 6-7 days/week. He is super excited too, though I think this was his first and last...

Top 10 (12) Records of 2011
I’ve finally put together my year-end list for the best albums of 2011. It was a great year for a diverse array of genres as seen in the list below. Excellent hip-hop, trip-hop, shoegaze, rock, and folk albums dominated my listening for the year.
My list is in descending order, with a tie for my favorite album of the year between Youth Lagoon and Atmosphere. Those two albums were far and...

Could 3D Printing Change the World? →
Its taken a long time, but 3D Printing is finally getting to the point where the question below is not ridiculous. Research at MIT’s Media Lab, Mediated Matter Group involving much more complex material structures is one example of how 3D Printing could make the jump from rapid prototyping to replacing manufacturing.

I grew up using Apple products from a very young age. My grandpa got me started on an Apple IIe. Our good friends had a NeXT computer that felt like it was 20 years in the future (and it was - it is still the basis for OSX). I used it every chance I could. We had Power PC’s during...
